Giving your teeth a natural lift.
It’s true – we are often our own worst critic when it comes to our appearance and the appearance of our teeth. But if we don’t have the confidence to smile, it can affect our life in a number of ways. Fortunately, at Angle House Orthodontics, one of the restorative dental treatments we offer can return our teeth to new and give us the smile we’ve always wished we had.
What are veneers?
Veneers are a thin cover that are custom-made to fit over the front of your teeth, giving them a new surface. They are an ideal restorative treatment if your teeth have stains or discolouration, are chipped, or are slightly out of alignment. In other words, they’ll give you a perfectly beautiful smile!
Types of veneers
There are two main types of veneers:
Porcelain veneers: these veneers are made from very thin porcelain or composite resin.
Laminate veneers: these veneers are made from a ceramic composition.
Laminate veneers are thinner than porcelain veneers which means we don’t need to remove the top layer of your teeth to fit them. Instead, laminate veneers are applied to your teeth in layers so we can determine how many layers your teeth need to achieve the look you’re after.
However, porcelain veneers do last longer than laminate veneers because the porcelain is a stronger material than laminate. This means there are pros and cons to each type of veneers but the friendly team at Angle House Orthodontics can advise you on the type of veneers we believe will best suit you.
Veneers for life
If you are considering having veneers it is important to note that this restorative dental treatment is permanent. Once you have veneers fitted you will need them for life. Veneers do last a while if you maintain a regular dental routine, but it is a decision you need to be committed too.
Our team are more than happy to talk you through your options so if you’d like to find out more about veneers, give them a call today.
